SYMPHONY
Symphony is a project to address the difficulties
that learners face in making complex processes like the science inquiry process accessible
to learners. While our recent work at hi-ce has involved developing individual
learner-centered tools, we are now moving to the next level in learner-centered support.
We are putting our various tools together in a single environment—a scaffolded
integrated tool environment (or SITE)—that offers tools plus process scaffolding to
support middle-school and high school students as they investigate complex and personally
meaningful science questions.
